‘Courtiers, The Secret History of Kensington Palace’ will take you on an illustrated journey through the weird world of the Georgian court by telling the story of Lucy's favourite queen, Caroline. Wife of the almost-forgotten King George II, Caroline was the fattest, funniest, and cleverest queen ever to sit on the throne. Using eighteenth-century paintings, court memoirs, palace diaries, and intimate letters, Lucy recounts the adventures and trials of Caroline’s life at Kensington Palace, explaining the unlikely turn of events that led an orphaned princess from a tiny German state to sit upon the British throne.

‘Reveals the complexity, anxiety and pathos behind the façade of those caught up in the golden circle of the Court’. The Telegraph

‘A sparking piece of popular history … stunning’. The Washington Times

The series is presented in conjunction with Iconic Media Solutions, offering on-demand access to talks that have been live-streamed by celebrities and experts. So far there have been shows featuring Gyles Brandreth, Rev Richard Coles, The Antiques Roadshow’s Paul Atterbury, architectural historian Dan Cruickshank, and Lucy Worsley.

Lucy’s past shows include an illustrated talk of her book 'Jane Austen at Home’, as well as ’Queen Victoria: Daughter, Wife, Mother, Widow’, which are both available for purchase on-demand.
