So it is a sad farewell to actor Sir Sean Connery, one of the most iconic film stars of the 20th century who died at the weekend at the age of 90.
Connery was best known of course as the man who for many will forever epitomise Ian Fleming’s fictional secret agent James Bond.

Born into a working class family in Edinburgh, Connery began acting in minor roles in theatre and TV before being spotted and offered the role of Bond. He would go on to star in many films beyond the Bond franchise including Marnie, Murder on the Orient Express, The Man Who Would Be King, A Bridge Too Far, The Untouchables, The Name of the Rose, Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade and any more.He won an Oscar, two BAFTAS and three Golden Globes. Connery officially retired from acting in 2006.
