Now running for over thirty years, the Devizes Arts Festival brings together a diverse, eclectic mixture of the best in music, literature, comedy, and all the performing arts, meaning there’s always something for everyone.
Since the festival is organised and managed entirely by volunteers, supported by the Town Council and local businesses, in addition to the main festival, a programme of free fringe events takes place in pubs, clubs, and churches across the town.
The main festival kicks off on Friday June 10th with Lesley Garrett’s ‘A Diva and a Piano’ at the Core Exchange theatre. You can join Britain’s most popular soprano for a delightful evening of song, reminiscences, and chat. Lesley’s behind‑the‑scenes stories and anecdotes will give audiences a unique insight into her life on the stage.
On June 20th ‘An Audience with Adam Frost’ takes place at the Core Exchange at 8pm. Adam Frost is one of Britain's most notable gardeners, he regularly appears on the BBC’s coverage of RHS Flower Shows and has also featured on The One Show, DIY SOS, as well as The Alan Titchmarsh Show.
The festival also includes appearances by one of contemporary British fiction’s most famous double-acts, Nicci Gerard and Sean French in ‘Meet Nicci French’; Britain’s leading travel commentator and a charismatic speaker on the adventures and misadventures, Simon Cadler, as well as Sophie Hannah, who is a Sunday Times and New York Times bestselling writer of crime fiction in ‘Agatha, Poirot & Me’, to name a few! There are also two 'Festival Walks' taking place on Sunday 12th and 19th June, which will give guests an opportunity to explore the Caen Hill Flight of locks and the nearby Jubilee Woodland, guided by volunteers from the Canal & River Trust.
