Last week Wayne Sleep wowed the audience in Spalding as he took them on a trip through memory lane when he talked about his humble beginnings, his first visit to The Royal Ballet School’s White Lodge, and how he became a Principal Dancer at the Royal Ballet. With the use of his own rare film footage and photos he also spoke about his friendship with Rudolph Nureyev, Bonnie Langford, and Princess Diana.
Kat from Spalding Today, who attended live mentions that “Wayne told the audience fairly early on that this was his first show of this kind and, for me, it felt as though we were sat in the pub with him. This intimate insight into his life was interspersed with footage from Wayne’s private archive. And I think it’s fair to say that we were all captivated by his stories and we will keep an eye out for what’s to come next in Wayne’s world.”
If you happened to miss Wayne in Spalding, his national tour continues this month in Weston-super-Mare on 18th May, Taunton on 28th May, and Paignton on 29th May. For all future dates of Wayne’s appearances, please visit our What’s On page.
